UGA Geography Alumnus Mingshu Wang Receives IJGI Young Investigator Award

UGA Geography Alumnus, Mingshu Wang, has been awarded the 2023 International Journal of Geo-Information (IJGI) Young Investigator Award. This award is given to one young investigator in recognition of their excellence in the field of geo-information. Dr. Wang is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the Geospatial Data Science School of Geographical & Earth Sciences at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on developing and applying methods of GIScience (i.e., geographical information systems, remote sensing and spatial analysis) and big data analytics (e.g., machine learning, artificial intelligence and econometrics) to understand urban systems.

Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2018 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 47 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 4 international conference proceedings. He is also recognized as one of Standford University’s World’s Top 2% Most Cited Scientists. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Mingshu Wang for his outstanding achievements!
