Geography students generally do well in the job market. You could attribute this to the fact that the degree helps develop a whole range of employability skills including numeracy, teamwork through regular field trips, analytical skills in the lab and a certain technical savviness through using various specialist computing applications. Also, the subject area in itself cultivates a world view and a certain cultural sensitivity. A minor must contain 15 semester hours of course work with at least 9 hours of upper division course work. Courses taken to satisfy Core Areas A through E (1998 core curriculum) or Areas I though V (2008 core curriculum) may not be counted as course work in the minor. Courses taken in Core Area F or Area VI may be counted as course work in the minor. Required Courses: ~5 (15 credit hours) Fifteen hours of GEOG courses (Nine hours must be upper division). All courses used to satisfy the minor requirement must be passed with a grade of "C" or better.
