Major in Geography
Human Geography combines economic and cultural geography to explore the relationships between humans and their natural environment, and to track the broad social patterns that shape human societies. Major in Atmospheric Sciences
The UGA Atmospheric Sciences Program offers a new undergraduate major (B.S.) in Atmospheric Sciences effective Spring 2017 as well as a graduate certificate in Atmospheric Sciences. The undergraduate major can easily be completed with a double major in Geography.   Read more

Minor in Geography
A minor must contain 15 to 18 semester hours of course work with at least 9 hours of upper division course work. Courses taken to satisfy Core Areas A through E (1998 core curriculum) or Areas I though V (2008 core curriculum) may not be counted as course work in the minor.  Read more

Certificate programs offers students an opportunity to complement concentrations in a wide array of subjects within the department, such as GIScience, Atmospheric Science, and Urban and Metropolitan Studies, and in related interdisciplinary programs, such as Water Resources. Read more

Business Businesses such as banks, fast-food chains, supermarkets and package delivery firms rely on geographers with training in location analysis to help select appropriate sites for their operations and manage routing systems.  Locational analysts have a broad base of expertise in economics, marketing, transportation, demography and spatial statistics.  Read more

Study Abroad
The University of Georgia offers its students over 100 faculty-led study abroad group programs in addition to exchange programs. It has risen to rank in the top five in the nation for University student participation in study abroad programs. Internship
The internship in geography is a 3-credit-hours course. It carries a grade of S or U reflecting a student's performance of internship requirements as described below. Internships may be arranged on a full-time or part-time basis, so long as no less that 200 hours of working time is spent on the job during the semester enrolled.  Read more
