Image: In an historic first for UGA, On October 2, the SPOC Satellite built by students and faculty in the Small Satellite Research Laboratory was launched aboard an Antares rocket headed for the International Space Station. On November 5, SPOC was deployed from the ISS, and began transmitting data within hours of launch. SSRL director Dr. Deepak Mishra and Associate Director Dr. David Cotten have helped to make history.
