Image: UGA Ph.D. candidate Ashley Cornish received the 2025 Peter B. Wagner Memorial Award for Women in Atmospheric Sciences from the Desert Research Institute. The $1,500 award honors outstanding publications by women in graduate atmospheric science programs nationwide. Cornish was recognized for her paper, “The Impacts of Plant Physiological Responses to Rising CO₂ on Humidity-Based Extreme Heat,” based on her master’s and early doctoral research, which she presented at a ceremony in Reno, Nevada.
